Tension testing evaluates the tensile properties of thermoplastic elastomers and vulcanized thermoset rubbers.

Test Details

In addition to the commonly referenced tensile and elongation properties most associated with ASTM D412, the standard also expands upon several other key areas of tension properties as well. One of those areas is Tensile Set in which a material is elongated, held for a predetermined amount of time, and then released and allowed to retract.
