Erick Sharp founded ACE Laboratories LLC in 2014.

His experience working for companies in the United States and Europe provided Erick a close look and a deep education at the state of rubber and silicone testing, research and development and a clear view of where the industry was heading.

ACE Brings Innovation in Technology & Services to the Rubber and Silicone Markets

ACE started as a one-man operation in Akron, Ohio in a 2000 square-foot facility. It grew quickly as ACE found client after client in need of a new laboratory that provided high-quality products and services to an ever-changing industry.

Within two years, ACE expanded and moved into a 220,000 square-foot building in Ravenna, Ohio with a talented team of professionals. The move provided ACE with the space to grow and broaden their offerings.

In 2018, ACE earned a coveted ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, one of the most important standards for testing for laboratories around the world. Laboratories with this accreditation have proven capabilities to provide accurate, precise data and testing.

CEO and founder, Erick Sharp, has a passion for innovation and has instilled this value in his team. ACE continues to expand its capabilities and offerings, making them an industry leader.

In addition to providing research, development, and testing, ACE partners with colleges and high schools to offer an inside look at a globally renowned laboratory, hoping to bring fresh ideas to the industry.

CEO

Erick is the founder of ACE, establishing it in December of 2014. He has over 20 years of experience in the rubber industry. During that time, he has held technical and operational roles within international companies. Erick has a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Doug Foster

Doug Foster

Director of Technical Services

Doug joined ACE in January of 2018. Prior to ACE Doug was the Laboratory Manager for Dupont Performance Materials Technical Services and Development Laboratory. He has over 15 years of experience in an ISO/ IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. Doug has a B.S. in Biology from John Carroll University and an MBA from Youngstown State University.

Wendy Naugle

Wendy Naugle

Administrative Manager

Wendy joined ACE in November of 2017. She has over 25 years of experience in accounting and administrative functions with over 15 of those years coming within the rubber industry.

Zach Ellashek

Zach Ellashek

Operations Manager

Zach joined the ACE team in August of 2022. Prior to ACE Zach was Vice President of Operations for SVC3. He has extensive experience in scaling operations for rapidly growing companies. Zach an expert in setting up and implementing operational systems.

Miles Dearth

Miles Dearth

Technical Project Manager / General Counsel

Miles joined ACE in March of 2022 with over 30 years of industry experience, including positions with Lord Corporation, Celanese, and BF Goodrich. Miles has a B.S in Organic Chemistry and MBA from The Ohio State University. He also has Juris Doctor in intellectual property law from Cleveland State University.

Technical Sales Engineer

Eric joined ACE in March of 2022 with five years of experience in the rubber industry. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron. Eric started his tenure in the industry with Preferred Compounding. He has extensive experience in rubber formulating and testing.

Rodney Armstrong

Rodney Armstrong

Engineering Manager

Rodney joined ACE in March of 2022. Prior to ACE Rodney was the Director of Momentum Technologies Laboratories. He has B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from The University of Akron. Rodney has over 15 years of testing experience with nearly all of that being within an ISO /IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
