Director, iLearn Innovation Institute

ACE Products and Consulting, an accredited, independent testing and R&D laboratory, announced the hiring of Christie Robinson as Director of iLearn Innovation Institute, ACE’s premier training facility. In her new position, Christie will direct all daily operations and training services of the iLearn Institute. Responsibilities include the development of curriculum and CEU status for various programs, developing collaborative onsite and offsite training opportunities, and acquiring certifications for government approvals and job placement. Additionally, she will be responsible for targeted outreach programs with local universities, colleges and schools as well as hiring qualified instructors.  Erick Sharp, president, and CEO made the announcement.

“We have long recognized a need in the industry for in-depth, hands-on training and a means to inspire the next generation of technical employees,” said Sharp. “Christie’s vast experience and in-depth understanding of the rubber industry and her education and training background is what was needed to launch the iLearn Innovation Institute. We are thrilled to have her on the ACE team to lead this important initiative.”

Sharp noted that the iLearn Innovation Institute will focus on providing exceptional education and training for technical partners, manufacturers, and technical employees and students. The goal of the program is to inspire and train the next generation of students and employees interested in technical careers and to provide a working laboratory and simulated manufacturing space for manufacturers who want to train their own employees on specific equipment but don’t have room in their own facility.

“Our overarching goal here is to provide substantive training and education that enriches not only the employer but the employee or student as well,” said Ms. Robinson. “I’m excited about what we have developed and are launching here at ACE – the curriculum and sponsor opportunities – particularly in the rubber industry where innovation and out-of-the-box thinking is long overdue.”

Prior to joining ACE, Robinson served as Training and Development Director at the Rubber Division, ACS for over 12 years. While there she was responsible for facilitating and managing all on-site training, online courses, webinars, scholarships, publications, and Student Chapters. During her tenure at ACS, she also managed the Student Outreach Program that provides rubber education and tours to science classrooms in a 6-12 setting with the goal of expanding the industry and attracting younger generations into the rubber industry.

Additionally, she served on active duty in the U.S. Navy and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English at Eastern Connecticut State University.  She went on to receive a Master of Education Degree in Secondary Education, grades 6-12 and Adult Learning with a specialization in English. Ms. Robinson’s experience also includes holding various positions in teaching and training while serving as a High School English Teacher and Curriculum Specialist at the U.S. Navy Combat Systems School in Mayport, Florida.
